Guardian Bank Limited (“GBL”) was founded by the Chandaria ("MM") Family, one of the leading business houses of Kenya having business commitments in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, UK and India. It is a commercial bank incorporated in Kenya on 13th January 1992 initially as a finance company and then converted into a commercial bank in August 1996.
The members of the Board of the Bank are made up of businessmen and professionals from various fields.

"GBL" now has eight (8) branches, four in Nairobi, two in Mombasa and one each in Eldoret and Kisumu. Our newly opened branches are located at Nyali, Links Plaza on the ground floor and Ngong Road, The Greenhouse on the ground floor.
The Total Deposits of the bank as at 31st March 2013 stood at Kshs. 10.479 bn. while the Gross Advances were at Kshs. 7.929 bn. The Bank posted a net profit of Kshs. 60.187 mn at the end of the first quarter in 2013 against a net profit of Kshs. 50.787 mn posted during the same period of 2012. The Core Capital of the bank stood at Kshs. 1.248 bn as at 31st March 2013.
The Bank has correspondent relationships with Habib Bank (London), Bank of India (Kenya), ICICI Bank (India), Kenya Commercial Bank (Kenya) and Standard Bank of South Africa (South Africa), which enable the Bank to offer full-fledged trade finance and foreign exchange services.
To compliment the rapid growth of business, the bank continuously invests in the latest technology developments, enabling the bank to offer various innovative products and services. All branches are networked to extend "Anywhere Banking" facilities to its customers.
